Overview & Highlights

Welcome to the vibrant world of Buca Colombian Food Truck, an eatery that brings the heart and soul of Colombian cuisine right to the streets of Detroit. Nestled at 7719 Vernor Hwy, Detroit, MI 48209, this food truck is where tradition meets flavor, offering an authentic taste of Colombia that locals rave about.

From the moment you approach Buca, the aromatic scents draw you in, promising a culinary adventure. The star of the menu is undoubtedly the Bandeja Paisa, a true Colombian feast. This dish showcases an impressive array of components—grilled steak, crispy chicharrón, a perfectly fried egg, chorizo, and red beans, all served on a bed of fluffy white rice. Accompanied by fresh avocado and arepa, this dish captures the rich, rustic flavors of the Antioquia region. It’s not just a meal; it's an experience that reflects the warmth and generosity of Colombian culture.

For those seeking a taste of the streets, the Mazorcada de Pollo is a must-try. This delightful corn medley, loaded with succulent chicken, sweet corn, melted cheese, and house-made sauces, is served over crispy fries. Each bite offers a beautiful blend of savory, creamy, and slightly sweet flavors. It’s comfort food at its finest—a dish that delights the senses with its rich mix of textures.

Don’t overlook the traditional Carne Empanadas, crispy pastries filled with seasoned beef and potatoes. They serve as the perfect appetizer, bursting with authentic Colombian flavor in every bite. Whether you’re in the mood for a snack or a complement to your meal, these empanadas hit the spot.

But it’s not just the food that sets Buca apart; it’s the community feel that envelops you as you dig in. Customers like Nick Westrate and Bryan Bowen share a common joy found in the home-like atmosphere, with many stating how returning feels like visiting family. Jessica López highlights the friendliness of the staff and emphasizes the Mazorcada and the guava cheese empanada as irresistible items on the menu.

In a city that craves authenticity, Buca Colombian Food Truck stands as a beacon of quality comfort food that is well worth every penny. Axel Rhenals Rincon points out the excellent prices and great taste, while Bianca Jean-Lopez describes the welcoming vibe akin to being in a rainforest oasis—adding magic to your dining experience.

Great Colombian food ! Very authentic and felt like a home cooked meal . Highly recommend.

This place is , some of the best food I’ve had. I would drive hours to have this food! I had a big order and I still wanted more even though I was stuffed to the brim!

Finally a good Colombian place in metro Detroit area!!! Good prices good taste, will be back for sure! I spent a lot of money in other places not good at all or too expensive, but this one is complete worth it!

Delicious authentic Colombian food and friendly staff! The Mazorcada is a must and if you are craving something sweet you can’t go wrong with the cheese with guava empanada!

The food was absolutely divine, the staff are so welcoming and make you feel like you’re part of a family. The wait time for food is no more than 20 minutes and the atmosphere makes you feel like you’re in a jungle. (A bit like the rainforest cafe at Disney)

Stopped in to try this place yesterday because a friend recommended it. It’s very good! There’s not a lot of Colombian restaurants and the ones that I’ve tried were not very good. This one is great! The food is very authentic and delicious! Highly recommend. Will definitely be back.

We came in a Sunday at noon, great service from everyone. My bandeja paisa was freshly prepared. We no longer have to drive several hours for delicious Colombian cuisine. We will definitely be back and will recommend to anyone. There was plenty of street parking and tables for us to enjoy our meal.
